Description
These beautiful burger buns are soft, golden, and slightly sweet—perfect for any burger or sandwich. Made with just a few pantry staples, they beat store-bought every time.
Ingredients
3 1/2 cups (420g) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp (198g) lukewarm water
2 tbsp (28g) butter, room temperature
1 large egg
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp (9g) instant yeast

Butter glaze:
3 tbsp (43g) butter, melted

Optional topping:
1 large egg white + 2 tbsp water
Sesame or poppy seeds
Instructions
1. Mix all dough ingredients in a large bowl until a soft dough forms.
2. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours.
4. Punch down dough and divide into 8 equal pieces.
5. Shape into balls and flatten slightly to 3″ rounds.
6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and rise 1 hour.
7. Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush buns with half the melted butter.
8. (Optional) Add egg wash and seeds.
9. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
10. Brush with remaining butter and let cool before slicing.
Notes
Store at room temperature for 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
For sliders, divide into 24 pieces (33g each) and bake 12–15 minutes.
Larger buns: divide into 6 pieces (128g each), bake 18–20 minutes.
Use leftover dough to make cinnamon rolls.
