Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line an 8×8 pan with parchment.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
3. Stir in sugar while still warm.
4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
5. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined.
6. Fold in chopped chocolate or chips if using.
7. Pour into pan and smooth the top.
8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until a toothpick has moist crumbs.
9. Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Use high-quality cocoa powder for bold flavor.
For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake and chill before cutting.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
